How to spot a fake movie trailer on youtube.

You know many a times you went about watching upcomming movie trailers on youtube and ended up feeling dump about what you just watched because it came out to be a fan made shit.

Now why fan made? May be these guys want to experiment with how to edit and create videos or they are into visual and special effects and trying to create impressive videos trying to get some attention. Well, there is nothing wrong with it unless it is changing moods of video viewers on you tube. The one which had viewers almost believe it was a real trailer comes out to be the best fan made.

Comments below the video from viewers who watched it before you can save your time and bandwidth from watching the video because you would get to know that its a fake. But if not then read below what i have managed to collect from my experiences.

  • Too many textual descriptions on a solid color background : Some trailers do have a punch lines broken and integrated in trailer to brief what the movie is about, but too many such text scenes one after another with a solid background or with some shitty text effects means its just trying to get your attention over the story through these text lines, story which may or may not be real. A real trailer might also have a narration with it.
  • Opera House kind of Music : Some movie trailer does have such background music but many that are commonly used are also obviously used in many fan made movie trailers. Most of the real trailers don’t have such background music but if some happens to have it then check for other points.
  • Too much talking : Fan made trailer creators make such videos by taking clips and music from other movies. When it comes to talking scene they will try to put a lot of good talk from other movies in it. That is where they might go wrong and if some one happens to put a really famous dialog from other movie then he or she is really dumb. This point is also based on the next point.
  • Less focus on cast : Too much talking scene is not a problem unless they are not showing you the faces of the actors while they are speaking it out. Fake trailer creators would not want you to pay attention to the casts or actors because it might remind viewers of the original movie. A real trailer will always have many scenes where actors are shown as they speak.

If you know of any other point then feel free to comment here and explain it.

Hope this article helps.
